Arty, yet Infectiously Catchy with a Little Something for Everyone.

~ Written 05/13/01 ~ To pigeonhole this CD into a single genre is as difficult as turning the CD off! Regardless of your taste, this album has something for every musical preference. So, if a song doesn't strike your fancy, wait - the next one's guaranteed to change your mind. Fusing everything from rock to punk, dark arty-pop to new wave, and even smatterings of electronica & industrial thrown in for good measure, it's no wonder Blue Period once described their debut CD as a "salad", "blind man's zoo" & (my favourite!) "short attention span rock". Or as Swirly put it - they're so good, they can play ALL this & more! Vocally, singer Adrian Roberts is equally all over the map, at times sounding as though he were five different people in the course of one song. What is constant, however, is the absolute warmth, depth & richness his voice brings into the mix. Overall, the album is playful & infectiously catchy, while maintaining its unique arty flair & great sense of humor. It's the perfect dose of fun to get me going (or out of bed for that matter!) in the morning. Even after two years, "Product" never leaves my CD player for too long.
