At last - introducing "Carry This Tune," the third CD created by Brian Peterson. This new release contains more of Brian's intriguing lyrics and upbeat tunes. This singer-songwriter from the Twin Cities area has written over a hundred songs in his career, and he continues to entertain listeners with a wide-ranging variety of lyrics and song themes.
As Brian explains, "I try to compress a meaningful song idea into words and music lasting three minutes or so. It's the lesson I learned from the Beatles and other great songwriters." Since his second CD, "Look Up to the Sky," released in 2001, Brian has continued to play with local jazz artists and perform his own material at open stage sessions and coffeehouses. His music career continues to make progress at a humble pace. "The important thing is that I can still develop song concepts as they come to me, and add to my catalog," Brian says. "I'll scribble hooks and titles in notebooks, I'll cluster lyric phrases on pages according to a certain theme - it can be hard work to pull a song together. Generally, songs don't come to me in a flash of inspiration. A lot of new songwriters expect this to happen."
Most listeners are impressed with the mix of styles that Brian draws on for his music: gospel, folk, jazz, rock, country and blues. Brian likes the term "Progressive Urban Folk" to describe his music. For instance, the opening song, "Every Connection" uses a bluesy, bottleneck guitar, while "Is It Just Me" has a classic country feel. "Commune With You" has a deeply spiritual message, while "Everyone Shopping" is a playful, bouncy, jazzy tune.
We hope you'll enjoy exploring the rich variety of Brian Peterson's music. You'll find it easy to "Carry This Tune."

Brian shines as a masterful songweaver. Rather Mellow tunes here. Ted Tjornholm should hear this guys style, ( He could find someone in Nashville to take this all the way )!
Some country flavors but mostly nice light folksy rock.
Actually Brian has more Albums however "Look Up in the Sky" is his 1st one on CDBaby.
