Creative and funky crossover music at its best. This EP contains an excellent collection of retro sounding funk and house as well as a heavy Hendrix/ Led Zeppelin style rendition of the opening track "Let's Bash".

Blip Pilot – Skinny Rider

Neo Pagan Phunk EP - Stax N Flares Music

The Blip Pilot – Skinny Rider project is a band based around UK dance composer Mike Yeomans (Blip Pilot) and Canadian drummer & percussionist Herman Bartelen (Skinny Rider).
They are based in Tokyo, Japan and compose & perform their own original material, which is infused with progressive house, jazz, experimental country, techno, trip hop & dub.
The project released their first EP as a band in June 2005 on the Japanese independent label 'Stax N Flares', since then the lads have been writing and recording new tracks for their next release due out later this year.
Blip Pilot - Skinny Rider are one of the few dance groups to feature the harmonica, electric guitars & bass, Saxophone and live ethnic percussion (with the sounds often heavily processed), and to have a truly international line up (the band is made up of British, Canadian and Japanese personnel).
Many of the tracks are recorded with guest collaborators - DJs and members of other groups from the underground dance and rock scenes of Tokyo's urban sprawl.
BP-SR have developed a live performance approach that is a bit more extreme than their recordings, with tougher beats, dreamy vibes and hypnotic live echo loops are all part of the course.
