Album Notes

Escape from Suburbia - was written and recorded in my home studio (Pro-Tools LE) in Valencia CA - and mixed at 2 places - the Mix Room in Burbank (with Paul Pavao) , and Resonate Studios in Burbank (with Toby Wright) - then mastered at DigiPrep Mastering in Silverlake CA.
Musicians on this collection - yours truly on most all lead and back up vocals - some back up vocal appearances from Bradi-Anne Mowry, and Keri Mowry.
Drums - Bob Yerby, Lead Guitars - Christian Nesmith.
"The Middle" was co-written with Billy Davis - "Highway Song" was originally written/recorded by Blackfoot.
I really love this album and there are some magical heartfelt moments we captured.
I never think an album is "done" or "perfect" but it is a snapshot in time of what you were doing/feeling so i leave it at that.
I felt like the title was appropriate - as i did all the writing/recording in "suburbia" so quite simply the music mentally took me to many places...hence my "escape from suburbia" - however we played on the concept a lot with the album cover and concept referring to the image of the perfect suburban life - that is actually stressful, or dysfunctional or phony at times and a guy who kinda loses it and wants to get back to the city....Just having fun and stretching a little.
I was honored to have the lead guitar parts from Christian as he is truly a gifted individual and i would find myself laughing in the studio when were tracking because his riffs were so good. Editing his parts wasn't hard to find a good part...it was hard to decide WHICH great part to use cuz he created so many...Thank you Christian.
Billy brought in blessings with the initial cords and concept for "the middle" which we built on together and came up with this beautiful song kind of highlighting the concept of "the meek shall inherit the earth" or a poor man who appears to have and to know nothing - being much more wise and aware than the "rich" or "cool" guy in society cuz he's been there and seen much of what life is and isn't. Anyway - so many beautiful memories recording these songs - I love by bro Bob Yerby - and i was even able to get my family in the studio to add some backing Vox and vibey parts...Good stuff.
I hope you enjoy these songs. :)
Sending blessings to all.
Brad
