Album Notes

GOOD LUCK STRANGER named TOP 10 ALBUMS of 2000 @ Pop Culture Press and Delusions of Adequacy. "Roots-rock Americana with the vibrant, crackling pop of Revolver-era Beatles." -George Zahora, SPLENDID; "An addictive set of Lennon-shaded country-rock, Harris is a smart, literate songwriter with melodies to make him a dangerous commodity in an increasingly mediocre genre" ---Matt Fink, POP CULTURE PRESS; "GOOD LUCK STRANGER gets my highest recommendation."---Ron Garmon, MEAN STREET MAGAZINE; "One of the finest albums I've heard this year...This music is timeless." ---Jon Worley, AIDING & ABETTING; More reviews @ www.bradyharris.com Brady is an L.A. based singer-songwriter who has performed on small stages (and a few large ones) from L.A. to Texas to Boston to Amsterdam. The Texas born, former busker (London & Paris underground) has had his songs placed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, featured in independent films, hand picked by screenwriter Joe Esterhaus (the song "All of You Suck") and chosen by the rock band Collective Soul as "Best Rock Entry" (for the song "Sunday Shining") in the "Born on the WWW" song competition. Brady was critic's pick @ the NXNW Festival '99, then released GOOD LUCK STRANGER and went on to tour Belgium and Holland later in 2000. 2001 saw more gigs in Texas, LA and NYC, and Brady won a $600 SHURE condenser microphone for his roots-grass version of Motorhead's classic "Ace of Spades" (hear at www.bradyharris.com) from SHURE's Musical Roots Contest (www.shure.com). 2002 continues w/the recording of the follow-up to Good Luck Stranger. Also, Sunday Shining (from Good Luck Stranger) recently won $5,000 from the Pontiac Vibe Car Commercial Contest (www.mp3.com/promos/vibe). Official bio from All Music Guide (www.allmusic.com): Former frontman for the Replacements-inspired Solid Goldsteins, Brady Harris' solo career has diverged from his previous work into a sound altogether more indicative of his Texas roots. Bearing considerable vocal resemblance to John Lennon, Harris crafts moody country-rock with a hard pop edge. Strongly melodic with a confident wit, he combines well-traveled themes with stoic romanticism. Having paid his dues as a starving artist, busking on the streets of Paris and London, Harris found himself in Los Angeles recording one album with his former bandmates before releasing his solo debut in 1997. That album, Next Door to Nowhere, received favorable reviews and was followed by considerable media attention at 1999's NXNW music conference. Good Luck Stranger (2000) was met with near unanimous critical approval, and Harris went on to tour Europe in late 2000. -- Matt Fink A full bio is available @ www.bradyharris.com

REVIEWS

The best new songwriter I've heard-period
author: Jason
Good Luck Stranger is awesome. It's that simple. With a vocal prowess somewhere between Rhett Miller and John Lennon, Mr. Harris manages to fuse a plethora of musical styles with great success. My favorite song? All of them...? Okay, if I had to pick-probably Anthrax Blues. Brilliant. 'Sunday Shining' and 'Koreatown' are excellent as well. Harris sings, writes, and plays with an almost superhuman quality. The man's music exudes an element of profundity while still remaining accessable to the listener. I love this music, Brady Harris rocks!
