Grammy nominated, Parents' Choice GOLD and NAPPA GOLD Award! Family recording artist Brady Rymer’s rollicking, roots-y tunes resonate through American culture in the manner of Woody Guthrie, Chuck Berry and Bruce Springsteen, bringing the soul of this country’s best songwriting and musicianship to a recording for kids and all generations.
“Here Comes Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could†marks Brady Rymer’s debut recording with the band he’s brought on the road since 2005. Combining a feel-good R&B foundation with traditional acoustic arrangements and a scoop of sunny 70’s optimism, they’ve created a modern American roots sound for a generation of families raised on rock ‘n’ roll.
Adding to the brew, legendary multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell’s Dobro, fiddle, slide and electric guitar lend a classic rock feel to the recording. “Throughout the CD you’ll hear strong, straight-ahead grooves, catchy choruses, and a down-home, boogie-woogie, hip-shakin’ vibe,†says Brady. “These are songs you’ll dance to, you’ll whistle around the house, you’ll sing with your mom and dad.â€
The album’s opening tune, “The Little Band That Could,†lets us know what’s coming down the track – “boxcars full of rock ‘n’ roll.†The travel theme continues with a funky ballad about that most American of activities: piling into the car and driving through the heartland on a family “Road Trip†of shared experiences.
The Little Band That Could is in full swing on the happy, groovin’ dance tunes “Jump Up (It’s A Good Day)†and “Your Smile.†“The Relatives Came†conjures up the incomparably sweet feeling of family, while “It Was A Saturday Night†spins a sillier tale: moms and dads having a late-night dance party as a child watches in disbelief from the top of the stairs, wondering, “Is it really gonna be like this?â€
Woody Guthrie’s “Bling Blang†expresses the joyfully creative way kids go about building a pretend house; at the core of the song is the universal desire of a family to create a home of their own. Following the sweet lullaby waltz of Rymer’s “Good Night, Daisy,†the CD ends with an intimate solo version of Pete Seeger’s peaceful tune “Well May The World Go.â€
Brady Rymer toured and recorded with the RCA roots-rock group From Good Homes for thirteen years, sharing the stage with Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, and Bob Weir, before parenthood broadened the scope of his music. Since then, he has established himself as one of the country’s most exciting creators of rockin’ good music for the whole family. Brimming with confidence, Rymer is at his prime on this CD, presenting a soon-to-be-classic collection of tunes full of life, love, and heart.

Brady rocks!

This is one of the few CD's made for children that my children absolutely love but keep asking me if it was really made for kids because it sounds like adult music. BRAVO!! This CD has songs that will make you laugh, make you cry and just make you feel happy to be alive and listening to music! I find myself listening to it when my kids aren't even with me. Great musicianship all around in the band and tied up in a pretty bow of great songwriting.

Brady has developed with heart and skill the notion of "family music." I especially love "One True You," but all of the songs make me smile and hum and tap my toes. He captures the every day fun and warmth of family with enthusiasm, spirit, and hummability!
