ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Brahja Waldman's Quartet consists of four very fine Montreal musicians playing fine compositions. Soulful is a word one might use; it is music that has the power to connect with all listeners. Rhythm, Melody, Spontonality! Music which is rooted firmly in the tradition of jazz yet explores new song forms and textures. The group's new album, Brahja Waldman's Quartet!, features seven original compositions, fruits of a lifetime's labor of love.
Brahja Waldman's Quartet is: Brahja Waldman, saxophone; Martin Heslop, bass; Shadrach Hankoff, piano; Daniel Gélinas, drums.

“The young musicians of Brahja Waldman are on to something--all fire, all ice. Close your eyes, transcend and move -- open up and catch a groove. You want to know what love is? Love is jazz overflowing from these maestros of Montreal. The Real Thing. The Whole Real Thing. And Nothing But the Real Thing.”
