Album Notes

Brainpool and its members are brave people. From Malmö, in Southern Sweden, this guitar-driven retro rock band is trying to change the world with every note they put to paper. Oh, excuse me. David, Brainpool's singer says, "we don't plan to change the world, but we do all we can." It's a very interesting statement coming from a band that didn't used to have even an inkling of those thoughts in mind. They used to be a straightforward pop band singing to pre-teens. Brainpool's history is definitely one of major transformations. They got together in 1991 with their original lineup-the same as it is today, but minus singer Janne Kask, who quit in 1997. Today's Brainpool is David Birde, vocals, Christoffer Lundquist, bass and production, and Jens Jansson, drums. At their inception, they were actually a pop band on a major label. The next great rock opera!
author: Rick Fonte
Saw the musical production in Los Angeles and immediately had to get the original CD! THe music is just fantastic, it is the perfect blend of Floyd, Ziggy Stardust era Bowie, seventies Who, eighties genesis and a little Yes Heart of the Sunrise thrown in for good measure. The story is a little hard to follow, easier on stage with different characters, but the packaging is beautiful and explains everything - if you buy this on MP3 you are really missing out. I had never heard of this band previously and it is my understanding this album represents a bold departure from their previous outings.... I can only say they continue to follow this path and that the musical version will move to new york and expose a new audience to this great music!

Absolutely Amazing and Epic

I can't believe that this cd is available here! I got it off a swedish website and couldn't believe how amazing it was. And, unfortunately, almost nobody's heard of it. This is for those people that love epic, glammy, theatrical music.
