Album Notes

This was written, played, recorded and mixed in three days. It was painting pictures with sound. Mark Bram, from Ruby Topaz, played all the instruments on this CD. It was recorded using a Roland VS880 eight track digital studio. Except for the drums, all the lead instruments (trumpet, trombone, sax, flute, sitar, banjo, bass, synth, etc.) were all played on the guitar using a Roland guitar synth. There is jazz, blues, ethnic, soundtrack, new age and Dixieland jazz on this. A standup jazz bass player, who has played with many of the great classic jazz artists, said to Mark of "Rompin in Dixie."..."for someone who doesn't play this style, you got it down" and "it sound like different people, with different life experiences playing together; not you playing by yourself." This CD exists as it was written and recorded; in the same order. Mark went into a room without any pre-conceived notion and played a track, then played another and so on, until a song emerged. Then it was on to the next until the whole CD was done. It’s definitely a trip.
