Album Notes

Songs from Crystal Pick 1 and 2. For a description of Crystal pick II see the description on the Soundtrack of Life: Crystal Pick II page. As For Crystal Pick, it was therapy for Mark, who is the lead guitarist and lead vocalist of the rock band Ruby Topaz, when he was going through a bad divorce in the early 90's. Mark had always recorded in big studios and bought himself a 4-track cassette recorder and a synthesizer to keep busy. He sequenced songs on the synth and then played lead guitar over it. Mark has always used polished agate guitar picks, so as a joke, marked named it Crystal Pick as a rib to the New Age movement. It was released in a limited run on cassette. Now out of print, this is a rare glimpse into that time in Marks life.
