Great Topaz!!

This CD is essential for the Ruby Topaz fan. The CD is billed as "The lighter side of Ruby Topaz" Yes it is true that some of the tunes on here can be considered "softer or lighter", but in true Ruby Topaz fashion - the tunes are extremely catchy! The liner notes are great with a track by track history of what was going on in Mark's life at the time and explanation of the songs. For me the stand out track is one that Mark states that he didn't think people w/o kids would get. (Far, Far Away) I do have a son myself so I guess I get it. :-) The last thing I want to mention is the amazing cover of The Grass Roots "Temptation Eyes" and Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" He combines the songs masterfully! It sounds as if they were always meant to be blended and recorded as one. To sum it all up, get this CD! I also Recommend Mark Bram / Ruby Topaz Again. Killer stuff there, too. Thanks for reading!
