"Apricots and Afterthoughts" is a peppy, psychedelic pop song with some dreamlike elements. It was partially influenced by the popular 1967 tune, "Incense and Peppermints" by Strawberry Alarm Clock. The lyrics contain metaphoric references to Greek mythology, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland(1971 film version), and classic cartoons, along with some other encoded themes.
