Brandon McGovern's return to Memphis, TN after a 3-year stint in Tulsa, OK; recording 2 CD's with "The Scrappers" and also touring and recording with Dwight Twilley.

This well recorded, dreamy pop experience, definitely recalls the truest of McGovern's influences...the
early/ to middle-period 'Beatles', 'Badfinger'-esque ballads, 'Dwight Twilley/Phil Seymour', and of course, his Memphis hometown pop heroes in 'Big Star', mixed in with 'Elvis Presley's' style Rockabilly on one hot rockin' number in "Half Acre and a Double-Wide", and one last nod to out-law Country in "Hey Cops". On this 8 song disc, along with 4 McGovern-penned pop gems, are contributions from several family members, (including Brandon's very own father playing the drums and co-producing, who loves to tell the story of seeing the 'Beatles' perform at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis in 1966, and whom has had a fine music career in his own right, playing the guitar and drums....and, also, one of Brandon's Uncles, Roger McGovern, playing the Bass on a few tracks, co-writing one song with Brandon ("Half-Acre..."), as well as contributing one song all his own, thusly the CD title, "Signal Heights"...the Berclair-North Memphis neighborhood of Brandon's birth). Also in the mix are covers (and tipping the hat) to Memphis' 'Big Star' ("Watch the Sunrise") and NYC's ('Radio City's') Gary Feldman (also of 'RC Flyer') with the song "Look Up"...
