Rising fast and quickly turning heads on the East Coast live music scene is the eclectic and experimental Philadelphia-based rockers, the Brandon Meyer Trio. Marked by outstanding chops, catchy and complex compositions, avant-garde songwriting, thought-provoking lyrics, and a penchant for blinding improvisation, the band has been leaving audiences jaw-dropped with every recent performance. Fusing elements of hard rock, jazz, folk, funk and reggae, the all-encompassing Trio leaves no musical stone unturned, yet does it all in their own unique and original sound.
The brainchild of guitarist, singer and songwriter Brandon Meyer, the band features the uber-tight and rock solid rythm section of Sarab Singh on drums and Phil D'Agostino on basses, leaving for an all-out musical assault that suggests more instrumentation than just an ordinary Trio. The Philly-area natives formed just under a year ago, but in their short and productive time together have already performed on some of the finer stages in the Mid-Atlantic, including NYC's Knitting Factory and their hometown's own World Cafe Live, Khyber, North Star, and Grape Street.
The band recently completed their debut album, a self-produced effort entitled 'Rise Up, Make a Fist, Say Hello,' featuring 8 of the band's favorites and a few brand-new originals.
In the meantime, go catch them at a town near you. You won't be disappointed.
The band:
Brandon Meyer: Guitars/Vocals, Sarab Singh: Drums, Phil D'Agostino: Basses
