Real Good Love (4:03)
Brandy Moore (SOCAN)
"I wrote the first verse of this upbeat ska tune in 2005. I needed another uptempo song for the CD, so I pulled it out of my "unfinished songs" box and wrote the rest in Nashville before we started recording. It became the title track."
Still Got Me (4:33)
Brandy Moore (SOCAN)
"I wrote this one near the end of 2010. It's a reflective song about the difficulty of leaving a relationship that just isn't working, even though you know you should, then drawing on your own inner resources once you finally find the courage to say goodbye.
Much Too Late (5:12)
Brandy Moore (SOCAN)
"Written in 2008 with an old school soul flavor. It came pouring out of me after I ended a short-lived affair with a guy who just wasn't treating me right."
I Can't Stand the Rain (3:44)
Bryant/Miller/Peebles (Felsted Music Canada/JEC Publishing c/o Irving Music - BMI)
"A funky version of a great R&B classic that was first recorded and co-written by Ann Peebles. It's also been covered by The Commitments, Tina Turner, Missy Elliott, Seal...
Without You (4:41)
Brandy Moore (SOCAN)
"A heartfelt ballad written in 2000 for an ex-boyfriend. He loves the song and I've sang it for him live. We're still good friends."
Sugar Mama (3:07)
Glen Clark (WRLT Music on behalf of Glen Clark Music - BMI)
"A sassy, upbeat song that I first heard on Bonnie Raitt's Collection album. I phrased my vocals a lot like Bonnie's, but the tempo we chose is faster and there's a different musical flavor as well."
I'd Rather Go Blind (6:45)
Foster/Jordan (ARC Music - BMI)
"One of my favorite songs to sing with a band. My version is heavily influenced by the vocal stylings of Kathi McDonald's live recording in Hamburg, Germany, but you can also hear influences from Etta James' studio version, from her "Tell Mama" album."
Soul Connection (3:31)
Brandy Moore (SOCAN)
"I wrote this one in the spring of 2006 after coming back home to Regina. I was feeling rootless after spending 10 months traveling and performing in El Salvador, Central America and then Montreal."
My Own Highway (5:53)
Brandy Moore (SOCAN)
"A bluesy attitude song written when I was 21. It was an affirmation to myself not to worry so much about pleasing others."
Over the Rainbow (5:40)
Arlen/Harburg (EMI Feist Catalog - ASCAP)
"This beautiful arrangement of Judy Garland's classic hit was created by Eva Cassidy, a phenomenal singer and accomplished musician from Washington D.C. who sadly passed away in 1996 in the prime of her life. With her breathtaking voice and her genious for both phrasing and arranging, Eva continues to astound and impress millions of fans. Search for her on YouTube."
