Billy is a former president of the Wichita Blues Society, and served on the Board of Directors for LMIA (Louisville Music Association) and MERF (Musicians Emergency Recourse Foundation), and the Tacoma Music Awards Committee. He is currently in his 10th year as Director and Emcee of the Sunbanks Rhythm & Blues Festival.
