It's a sprawling, yet humble debut of jazzy, rhythmic rock n' roll with a commitment to clarity. Cerebral in tone and in range, the record pays homage to nearly every form of music in the twentieth century while still maintaining a simple, focused energy.

Album Notes

The Breaktone was formed in 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is composed of five young, talented musicians. After recording a demo of original songs only three months after its inception, The Breaktone (then Deep Field) quickly gained notoriety as one of the most inventive but sensible bands in New Mexico, creating cohesive, effortless rock songs, often with beatboxing, five-part harmonies, jazz progressions, and instrumental interplay, yet never sacrificing the song for its individual parts. Taking a detailed Radiohead approach in a live Dave Matthews Band setting, The Breaktone promises to continue to evolve into one of Albuquerque's greatest talents ever.
