Album Notes

The Breeze Kings are making waves in Atlanta and all over Georgia for one simple reason. They have something special. Call it dedication, charisma, passion, on-stage chemistry ... whatever it is, this classic blues combo is one of Atlanta's most popular and sought after bands.

The Breeze Kings formed in October 1997 on a whim when a premier local blues club needed a house band for Thursday nights. In a matter of months they were getting calls from other area clubs. Now thirteen years later, they are performing over 200 shows per year all over the southeast, have toured Europe three times, and have won Creative Loafing's Best Blues Band in Atlanta award eight times (1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008).

They have opened for Bo Diddley, Leon Russell, Steve Miller Band, George Thorogood, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Marshall Tucker Band, Buckwheat Zydeco, Saffire-Uppity Blues Women, and have shared the stage with many regional and national blues acts. They have performed live on the radio and their recorded music is regularly played on many local, regional, national and international blues radio programs.

The Breeze Kings debut self-produced, CD "Tying One On ... for the People" was released in October 1999 after two years of steady club performances. The CD showcases the band's talent, influences, as well as their passion and commitment to the authentic sound and form of the classic Chicago blues labels from the 50's and early 60's. Everything was recorded live, in one night, in the same room, through a handful of vintage mics and tube preamps, straight to ½ inch two track mono ... just like in the old days. No multitracking. No mixing. No overdubbing. Just one night of sweat, soul and blues straight to tape. The CD has been well received by both critics and audiences.

The Breeze Kings second CD titled "You Got To Bring Some To Get Some" was released in June 2003. Their third CD titled "Two Guys Live" was released in August 2010. Both are available right here on CD Baby.

The Breeze Kings are not like every other blues band. They are a blues band on the move. They are making things happen and gaining attention everywhere they go.

The Breeze Kings rule the South and beyond!! What a fabulous group you are! I'm so glad that the Southside Jukes helped inspire you in your musical journey, We're always musically too old fashioned for today and what we've always wanted is to inspire and lift up the younger artist coming up. You are so great in your own right and like anything else worth striving for You've been putting in the work for a good long while and it is seriously paying off for the Breeze Kings as the current generation of the finest blues entertainers. In some ways the journey is like a tracking expedition where walking in the musical footprints of those you love and admire is like finding The, Lost Gold, Walking the walk night by night show by show is really the Whole Deal, you have always done that, I know The Breeze Kings are right there!, you are, That Lost Gold, always doing it right! Best Regards! Thanks My Brother! John A. Williamson and all The Southside Jukes

If you've never been into the blues, this album will convert you. It is a wonderfully and uniquely done tribute to the great early masters. Driving bass, wailing guitar, screaming harmonica, rapid-fire drums. High Energy!
