Album Notes

Brent DeBoer is the drummer for the Dandy Warhols. Around 2000-2001 while living in Portland, Oregon’s world famous rock dorm, he began recording songs into his four-track recorder. These late night sessions were heard by Brent’s fellow rock dorm neighbor and recording engineer, Brian Coates (The Great Northwest / The Dandy Warhols). Years later while recording the Dandy’s bass player and keyboardist Zia McCabe’s solo record, Coates encouraged DeBoer to come by The Odditorium (The Dandy’s studio) each night at 10pm as this was the time McCabe ended her daily sessions. Soon Coates found himself working double duty recording two Dandy Warhol member’s solo projects at once. For the duration of the project Coates and DeBoer would work through the night and into the morning resulting in DeBoer’s first solo EP, The Farmer.
