Where Brett Miller is concerned, be prepared for some alternative ideas about music, guitar, and the nature of time and space. In his world, it's all rolled up into one big, bizarre adventure.
Brett's fascination with music and the paranormal began at an early age. Constantly devouring books about UFOs, quantum physics, and alternative history, the young guitarist began to develop a parallel love for the music of AC/DC, Pantera, Manowar, Steve Vai, Cynic, Death, and countless other metal bands. An interest in classical guitar soon spawned a growing interest in classical music in general, and at eighteen Brett enrolled in the famous Berklee College of Music to study classical composition. During this period of musical development, Brett was equally enamored of both the crushing rhythmic work of bands like Meshuggah and Carcass, and the mystically-inspired music of composers such as Scriabin and Vaughan-Williams. Traits of both of these artistic bloodlines would soon begin to manifest themselves in his music.
Brett self-produced his first solo instrumental album "Constant" in 2005-2006, an intense offering of guitar-driven songs that Brett likes to describe as "paranormacore". Brett's second solo album, "Druid Green" was completely self-produced and performed, being recorded in the shredster's Wandering Wizard Studio in New York. Decidedly darker and more massive in instrumentation than "Constant", "Druid Green" features twelve tracks of accomplished writing and “intelligent-shredding” guitar; two staples that are often neglected in most of today's musical recipes. Both albums have received a great reception internationally; not only from fans of virtuoso-guitar music, but also from non-guitarist fans of progressive metal in general. In September of 2008, music from “Druid Green” was featured on Terrorizer magazine’s cover-mount CD “Fear Candy”.
Brett is currently hard at work on his next solo record, tentatively titled "1921". In addition, he's founding an exciting and unique non-profit metal organization called Gentleman Heretic, as well as writing and performing in his new death metal band Sacrificial Damned. Brett continues to be a successful and in-demand private guitar instructor throughout New York’s Hudson River valley, always looking to help others to a greater understanding of music as a powerful and living art form. He is also a composer of music for videogames.

Nice Instrumental, Guitar Driven progressive metal!
author: Dag Fjellby
Brett Miller’s ” Druid Green” is a fresh breath in the world of hard guitar driven metal. Even if you can draw lines to bands like Symphony X, Steve Vai and Dream Theater, this actually sounds very different. It’s the same style of music, but Brett Miller has managed to come up with a unique sound. And the sound is nice. So is the production, and the music is great. Sometimes complex, but listeners of this kind of music are used to this. I like this album very much, and therefore I think you should give Brett Miller a chance. Also check out the CD “Constant” from 2006. It contains more of the same stuff. I think this one is worth 4 out of 5 stars. Recommended!
