Album Notes

Middle of the Road is the debut LP by singer songwriter Bonnie Rose Hanson. Produced, engineered and mixed by Evan Frankfort (Would Work Entertainment) Middle of the Road features Bonnie's lush vocals backed by LA's finest musicians including Cary Park (Boy Howdy) Greg Leisz (Emmylou Harris, k.d. lang) Jaysen Hawks (Drew Davis Band), Evan Frankfort (Melodine) and Wade Beiry (Still).

The songs, all written by the artist, are a vivid collection of personal experiences. "Magic Moon" tells the story of a woman who fears she'll never find true love. "Her Boy's In Love" will pull at the heartstrings of any young boy's mother (Bonnie has two sons). "Your Turn" is a bit of a chick revenge song and "Stop" gives advice for those who can't seem to give in to love after heartbreak.

Bonnie has been a part of the Los Angeles music scene for many years. Born and raised here in L.A she fronted bands, playing the clubs of Southern California before finally settling in and focusing her attention to songwriting. Middle of the Road, brought to life by producer Evan Frankfort, is the result of this hard work. Priding herself on "keeping it real" each song gives you passage into the personal life and views of a thoughtful artist. "For me, songwriting is as natural as breathing" says Bonnie, "but I challenge myself by not allowing the cliché. I do a lot or rewriting!."

Bonnie lives in San Gabriel, CA with her two sons Cory and Casey and their black lab Ashley.

This CD is full of such amazing songs, each one shedding light on the artist's joys and pains. I listen to "Middle of the Road" all the time. Her vocals are really strong on all of the songs; it's really amazing how she can be really strong sometimes and really soft other times. She's so talented! My favorites are "Her Boy's in Love" and "Grace".Yay Bonnie!

The conviction runs so deep in this album, it might be easy to miss it in today's marketplace. On songs like "Stop," and "Middle of the Road," it hits me so deep I can't move. This is the real deal with performances from Greg Leisz and Cary Park that are so lush they carry you to another place. I'm sure I'll be playing this for years to come.
