Album Notes

Brian Gari has had a career that has spanned several decades beginning with Kama Sutra Records in the late 60s. He recorded for the Vanguard label and has had songs recorded by artists such as Don Ciccone (Critters), the Tokens & Lesley Gore. He has played piano/guitar for many different artists such as John Phillips, Jimmy Webb, Peter Noone, Petula Clark, Anthony Newley and many more. He is responsible for the liner notes and productions of compilations on the likes of Neil Sedaka, Brian Hyland and dozens more. He organized and played a revival show for PF Sloan in the mid 80s. His own albums have been critical successes with kudos from music greats such as Van Dyke Parks & Hal Blaine. Besides his own original song collections, his BRIAN SINGS WILSON (a salute to Brian Wilson) was a giant smash in Japan. His newest release, BRIAN GARI SINGS ROGER NICHOLS & PAUL WILLIAMS, takes some of the team's greatest songs and wraps them around those Brian Wilson harmonies. It's like the return of ROGER NICHOLS & THE SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS. In fact, Roger himself oversaw the entire project!

Great tribute to one of the greatest songwriters duo of the 60's 704s
author: Jack Durieux
Fantastic songs, nice arrangements, pure gems. This CD is a must for any Nichols/Williams fan. Brian, after having released a Brian Wilson, Nichols/Williams tributes, when are you going to do a tribute album to Jimmy Webb or Burt Bacharach? Thanks for keeping this music alive.

Another Amazing CD by Brian Gari
author: John Ruggiero
Brain Gari's latest CD is a breathtaking re-examination of the songs of Roger Nichols and Paul Williams. In addition to the familiar compositions of this historic pairing, Gari unearths several previously unrecorded gems which are sure to excite any fans familiar with the monumental Nichols/Williams body of work. Brian Gari along with his collaborator Jeff Olmstead have captured the musical essence of the period with their stunning arrangements while breathing new life into the songs. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this CD as one of Brian Gari's finest efforts to date.

Once again Gari has shown us his talent for translating other individuals tunes into his own inimitable style with quite satisfying results. Gari's affinity with his subject is the key to his overall success as both a singer and songwriter, something his grandfather, the late Eddie Cantor, I'm sure would have approved. Another five star effort from a musical plugger whose productivity is rarely matched.
