ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Brian Gaskill just completed shooting a 20 minute short film titled THE SPEECH. He was the writer, co-director, and actor in the film (also co-wrote an original song for it)...and with the help of others, including many fans/backers on kickstarter he produced what will be his first film creation. The Goal is to continue in this direction of finally opening up in his own voice after 20 years in the business of art and entertainment.

In 2012 ,Brian Released a spoken word poetry album called MAKE IT REAL, which was the first time he really started to let his own writing voice out in public...He returned to the Poetry with a new spoken word album titled GIVING UP TIME TRAVEL FOR THE RAIN released in December of 2013

Born in Hawaii and raised in New Jersey, Brian Gaskill graduated from the prestigious Acting Conservatory at SUNY Purchase.

Upon graduation, Brian performed in The Lion in Winter at The Cleveland Playhouse, co-starring Tony Award winner Elizabeth Franz, who convinced Brian to head to Los Angeles. Soon after, Brian broke into television on Aaron Spelling's Melrose Place spin-off “Models Inc”. Next..., he landed the role of “Bobby Warner” on ABC's “All My Children”.

While living in New York City, Brian became the co-founder (with Shea Whigham of Boardwalk Empire) and producing director of THE RORSCHACH GROUP, a theater company dedicated to bringing new material to the stages of Manhattan.

Upon his return to L.A., Brian was seen in Sony Screen Gems' The Broken Hearts Club, and the critically acclaimed short film Higher Grounds, opposite Ann Cusack. where Brian played an angel who was a golden retriever in his previous incarnation on earth. In addition, he guest starred on numerous primetime series before returning to daytime television in the role of “Rafe,” a vampire slaying angel, on the ABC series Port Charles.

On other TV shows, Brian has since played Oscar Marone (a New Jersey/Vegas low rent casino owner) on The Bold and The Beautiful, BJ Greene (an ex high school nerd who has become a billionaire with a makeover and tendency towards insanity and chocolate milk) on As The World Turns, and Dylan Lewis (a young father, who had a baby as a teenager, and is trying to re-connect with his now teenage daughter) on Guiding Light.

Brian has also directed many independent music videos. Including one with ANNE MCCUE that reached the top ten on the logo network (an affiliate of MTV). And for Georgette and George Jones and video, a Video for Georgette's song YOU AND ME AND TIME...a song about their strained relationship and coming back together. The video has gone a bit viral since George's passing, since it is the last Music Video he did, and because of it's personal nature.

Dedicated to the ARTS in education, Brian also has found another love in working with kids in acting/theater arts workshops that use the techniques he has learned from various master teachers over the years, to guide the kids to a place of growth, self confidence...and a self awareness that lets them be proud of who they are....He has also started to do private coaching for actors, but also non actors...using the acting exercises and writing lessons he has learned, to help anyone connect to their true selves and find knowledge and strength in their vulnerability.
