Album Notes

“Scenic Route” is the debut album from guitarist/composer Brian Green. The record consists of eight original compositions that mix elements of jazz, pop, and ambient/textural music. Brian enlists the help of Tigran Hamasyan (piano), Zach Harmon (drums) and Gabe Noel (bass), each of who have a wide array of influences and styles. The album combines the spontaneity of a live jazz record with the afterthought of overdubbed layers to enhance the compositions. “Scenic Route” is focused, primarily, on the success of the compositions and the improvisations throughout the record keep that in mind. The musicians are fully aware of the composition’s intention and react in a supportive and honest way. “Scenic Route”, as a result of the numerous styles and personalities it encompasses, is a unique and exciting record.
Brian Green is a guitarist based out of Los Angeles. In addition to playing his original music, he performs as a sideman with a variety of artists. He has toured and recorded with Warner Brothers recording artist, Michael Buble and is currently playing with Verve artist, Jessie Baylin.
