Album Notes

We're Gonna Laugh is the second recording from singer-songwriter and award-winning actor Brian Joseph. Produced by Danny Dannelly, this cd offers an all-acoustic hour of music, heaped with honest storytelling and living-room warmth.

It features the talents of Julie Wolf (Ani Difranco, Laura Love), Joey Peters (Cracker, Grant Lee Buffalo), Erika Luckett (Wild Mango), Jose "Krunchy" Espinosa (Ozomatli), Tara Shupe (String Fever), Danny Donnelly (Ellis Paul) and many others...

Brian has captivated audiences from California to Massachusetts, and around the world from here to Havana, Cuba.

Listen now and find out why Brian has been called "A troubador in the classic sense" (Oakland Tribune) and a "major dude [on] the top of the list of New Folk Debutantes." (listen.com)

"There is a startling completeness in Brian Joseph's songwriting. His elegant acoustic guitar fingerstylings, warm, velvety vocal phrasing, melodic ear, and knack for gracefully weaving wit, sensitivity, and insight into his lyrics, converge to yield a rich, fresh, fully formed musical document. - Jim Kirlin, Taylor Guitars

I loved "Sister on Trial". The first time I heard it I had tears in my eyes. The song expresses eloquently the impact of the guilt and shame that families can place on each other. Bravo - keep up the good work!

Brian Joseph tells stories; sweet stories, melancholy stories, family stories, personal stories. I heard him sing "Utah" at a concert in Salt Lake City and we all laughed at his "Must get hold of myself" line - it's even better when you can see the expressions on his face. Listen and love "Richest Man in the Graveyard", "We're Gonna Laugh" (which should be subtitled "Fish Tacos")and "Sister on Trial".
