Album Notes

"Every Tree and Every Stone..gorgeous execution proves that the traditional singer/songwriter wheel is far from broken when done right. A talented guitarist with a slightly throaty yet tender tenor, Just's gently plucked melodies make for the perfectly warming musical balm to guide Twin Cities denizens through the last torturous weeks of seemingly never-ending cold spells."

~Rob van Alstyne The Pulse Newspaper

"he is in 2007 singing timeless songs that work just as well at a bar as they would if he were sitting on your front porch." ~Bob Longmore Howwastheshow.com

REVIEWS

author: Tamara Turner, CD Baby
The first time Brian Just's music crashes over you with deafening beauty and subtlety, it's likely that the initial experience will leave you paralyzed with awe, where you're not sure what just hit you. With continued listens, however, the incredible feel for texture that makes Every Tree and Every Stone such a jaw-dropping album will works its way into your brain with hot intensity. It's as if he's added another dimension to the world like some sort of Einsteinian discovery where music exists on multiple levels, timelessly, without linearity, defying the mind's ability to comprehend the vastness. Succulent echoes of Nick Drake, Elliott Smith and Will Oldham can be detected, yet the comparisons are easily waved off as merely the tiniest nugget of inspiration, only a particle of dust in the wind compared to the sharp originality and vision that is so tangible in this music. This is where beauty becomes so engulfing that it almost makes you cry.
