The inspiration for this piece came from an article in my hometown newspaper following the death of a friend of mine, Ron Wiire. At the time I was also thinking about another loss in my family and this phrase stuck in the back of my mind for a long time. This is a tonal work, and is very open and calm, like a meditation.
