Album Notes

Indie rocker, Brig Feltus released a new album this week titled “Love and Light, Volume One.” It is hard to classify what type of album it is as it borders on rock, jazz, soul and R’nB. But it is her golden fresh voice and the powerful real lyrics that caught my attention. For once, we have an artist who did not try the usual pop formulae and make music that is mainstream commercial.

• On “Once in a lifetime”: This is a feel good song, with an inspiring message, I could not get enough of this track.

• On “Head over heals”: I hope this track gets enough votes to be on the chart.

• On “Blindman’s Blues”: She says, “Open up your eyes, don’t be surprised, when you get disappointed, Open up your mind, stop playing blind, don’t you know you’re annointed, Open up your eyes, stop telling lies, to yourslef baby, Open up and see what loving should be.’ Ohh man, mxwah mxhaw… BEAUTIFUL.

The “Queen Butterfly” as she is affectionately known on MySpace, is original, distinctive and a classy artist. She knows how to tell her story musically and can only grow from strength to strength.
