Album Notes

With her toes firmly planted in the Missouri Ozarks, Brigit Drake has a love of American folk music. Born into a family that embraced music, she inherited her father’s coronet and promptly failed music class. Many years later, while visiting Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, she saw a hammer dulcimer and knew that she had found her instrument. Since that time Brigit learned and played American, English, Scottish and Welsh folk music while living in the Norfolk, Virginia area. There, she added Appalachian dulcimer, Bowed Psaltery and Autoharp to her repertoire. Brigit played local events and weddings and after moving to Houston, TX became a member of the local Dulcimer Society. She now resides in Austin, TX. The popularity of Renaissance Festivals led her to Medieval and Renaissance music with a focus on Celtic music. Brigit has performed at the Four Winds Faire in Tyler, TX and the Ingleside Faire near Corpus Christi.
