BRIGITTE HANDLEY & THE DARK SHADOWS – BAND DESCRIPTION

Brigitte Handley & The Dark Shadows are a Sydney based 3 piece whose “call to non-conformity” and sound has been described as “indie rock’n’roll with a defiant punk attitude and a dark edge”. Brigitte Handley fronts the Dark Shadows on vocals and guitar, along with Carly Chalker on bass, and Nerida Wu on drums, they make no apologies for their fiery assault of their instruments, creating a unique and independent sound and style. Their live shows prove that they are just as dynamic onstage as they are on their recordings.

Brigitte Handley & The Dark Shadows have just completed a successful tour supporting US punk legends 'The Quakes and 'The Rezurex'. They have also recently toured Melbourne, Canberra the Central West, opened for The Meteors (UK), Pierced Arrows (USA), The Uncomfortables (UK) and played a bunch of Sydney shows. Brigitte and the band leave a deep impression with their audiences winning over new fans wherever they play. The debut EP, 'Identity' has caught the attention of established entertainers & DJs including Lemmy from Motorhead and Rodney Bingenheimer who has been spinning their EP on his 'Rodney on the Roq' show on KROQ in LA. They will be launching their new EP ‘Stand Off’ with a US tour in May/June 2008 alongside Mad Sin (Germany) and the Koffin Kats (Detroit).
