Album Notes

Witness Brittni Paiva taking her rightful place on the world stage; beautiful tone, mature musicianship, and impeccable technique. She transcends her instrument, digging deep and creating what all musicians
strive for: music from the heart. Charles Michael Brotman, Grammy Award Winning Producer

"Brittni uses her instrument in a magical way to express that which is inexpressible in words, that which is sacred and divine." – Johannes Linstead, Award Winning Guitarist

Burning like an eternal flame, instrumental music is an Old World tradition that has bonded people for centuries illuminating aspects of the human spirit that resonate to a higher truth. Traditional and contemporary world music reflect time-honored customs lovingly handed down from one generation to the next, sometimes migrating from one culture to another.

One such instance is the legacy of the 4-string instrument universally known as the ukulele which originated in Portugal over two thousand years ago. Portuguese immigrants took their instruments from their European homeland to the Hawaiian Islands in the early 19th century.

Throughout the first decade of the 21st century, Brittni Paiva has been celebrated as the ukulele darling sharing her interpretations of world music as only she can do. From the start, Brittni has been an award-winning recording artist refining and defining her place in world music.

Upbeat, soulful interpretations of her most passionate work are found here on her fourth recording, Four Strings: The Fire Within. Grammy Award-winning producer, Charles Michael Brotman of Lava Tracks Recording Studio co-produced the album.

“The songs on this CD are my favorites,” Brittni says. “I chose them because they reflect the change in me, showing the increased complexity of my craft. I see music as a canvas and my arrangements are the brush strokes and warm colors that create the picture.”

Authentic artistry evokes a vivid reflection of what the artist wants to communicate giving a voice to deep emotions that others feel but don’t know how to say. Brittni’s ability to let her music speak through the filter of many cultures manifests a fiery romantic aura as she takes her place on the world stage.
