Album Notes

NYC-based singer-songwriter John Brodeur came to recognition with "Tiger Pop", his 2001 (entirely) solo debut album. The record's combination of earnest lyrics, bold melodies, and experimental instrumentation, garnered strongly favorable reviews from the media and fans alike (as seen below). It was a great creative payoff from the young pop maestro--"Infected" and "Sucker" became featured tracks on retail and media samplers, and Brodeur took opening slots with the likes of They Might Be Giants, Angie Aparo, David Poe, Freedy Johnston, and more.

Fans of a more streamlined power-pop sound would appreciate Brodeur's next effort, "Mix Tape", with his band the Suggestions. The Suggestions were born when Brodeur teamed with guitarist-bassist Keith Hosmer and drummer Jason Schultz. A minor radio hit in early 2003, "Mix Tape" reached CMJ's top 150, and the Top 10 at commercial-alternative-specialty radio. The group toured the east coast and midwest throughout 2003 and opened for groups ranging from Vertical Horizon to Fountains of Wayne to Paranoid Social Club to Gavin DeGraw. While the Suggestions are no longer, Brodeur can now be seen fronting a trio called Maggie Mayday.

John Brodeur's second solo record, "Get Through," will be released in March 2009. The debut from Maggie Mayday will follow in the summer, and another solo release, "Slow Horses" is expected in the fall.
