Album Notes

Broken Romeo is a melodic alternative rock band that was formed in Tucson, AZ. They have had many successes, including the recording and release of two well-received albums, Retribution and the self-titled Broken Romeo. Both albums were successful and received substantial airplay on Arizona radio stations 98 KUPD in Phoenix, and 96 KLPX in Tucson. The success of these albums lead to many opportunities, including opening for national recording acts such as Social Distortion, Screaming Trees, Babylon AD, Junkyard and the UK Subs, among others. Broken Romeo regularly headlined shows on the west coast and throughout the southwestern region. Record labels Epic, Capital, and Virgin Records also displayed an interest in the band, and have attended showcases performed in Hollywood CA.

In 2002 Broken Romeo returned with a new line-up and renewed vision. Founding members James Turpin (vocals) and his brother Steve Turpin (guitars), have been joined by new members Loren Wessel (bass) and Bill Strickland (drums). Together they wrote and co-produced a full length CD Temptation. This album features a collection of songs that represent a wide variety of styles from the alternative rock genre, from the melodic acoustic oriented song, to heavy guitar driven hooks. Temptation has been featured on local radio stations with phenomenal response. Broken Romeo strives toward great success with their music, both locally and beyond, and continues to record new material and play live throughout the southwest.

In January 2004 Broken Romeo released an EP with 5 brand new songs including "Coming To See You", "The One" and the live favorite "Barfly". The band will follow the EP up with a full length CD in the Winter of 2004. EP available at CDBABY.COM/BROKENROMEO2.HTM

Broken Romeo Rocks!
author: Ed
I heard some Broken Romeo songs on the radio and had to get one(I bought mine at Borders). There are 6 or 7 great songs on this CD! Great soul felt throaty vocals, great harmonies, blazing guitar leads, and smoking songs! 5 stars!

Broken Romeo has succeeded with "Temptation", which is an album that has managed
author: Carsten B., Hard Line Review
Broken Romeo is a band from Arizona, which can already look back at two released albums "Broken Romeo" and "Retribution". Now after a short break the band has returned to the scene with their third CD, "Temptation" and two new band members. The band calls their musical style melodic alternative rock and this description seems to really fit the band perfectly. One can hear on "Temptation" that there are obvious influences tied to the hard rock of the 80s, but the band does not close their eyes and ears to the rock music, which populates the charts today. One could name Nickelback as a good comparison. Other comparable bands that come to mind are Creed (but without the whining voice) and Lifehouse. Broken Romeo has succeeded with "Temptation", which is an album that has managed honor its melodic rock heritage yet still definitely sounds up-to-date. The songs don't drill themselves immediately into your head on the very first listen, but they have an enormous long-term impact and great staying power. "Temptation" is a disc for all those people who have space in their CD case under "N" right next to their Nightranger and Nickelback CD's.
