A strong dose of melancholy primarily due to unrequited love, this disc makes true the quote from that great philosopher, Linus (from the Peanuts comic strip), "Happiness is a sad song". Check "melancholy" in the dictionary and among the defenitions you find, "sober thoughtfulness" - a fine description of Brooke's lyrics. For example, "Heavy heartbeat and waves of insecurity are crashing down on me" from "Chances", "Why am I so afraid to lose something I never really had?" from "Afraid to Lose You", and "Catch me now before I hit the ground and crash. My heart is in pieces" from "Crash". Fortunately for the listener she also has strong melodies that compliment her reflective thoughts. This is an awsome CD.  It came in pretty good time.  It's better than I thought it would be.  It has replaced others that wind me down at the end of the day.  The lyrics are awsome, and the singing is outstanding.  Great music.  Thankyou.
