Based in Wilton, CT and Westhampton, NY, Brooker and Bullen bring a fresh blend of acoustic sounds to the new century's world audience. Not limited to any one genre, Richard Brooker with his exceptional melodic fingerstyle playing and Elena Bullen, with her insightful lyrics and soulful delivery, weave a tapestry of blues, Celtic, Brazilian, bluegrass, folk and jazz in their writing style.
Their debut CD, Reciprocity, is a stripped down delight. Straight up vocals, impressive playing with a touch of percussion brings life and emotion to their self-penned compositions. Richard and Elena's musical versatility is amply displayed on this rich debut.

Great music with flavors and influences that range from Celtic to Show Tunes. Clever lyrics, and elegant guitar work.

Love the guitar and lyrics. I would see them live.

This is a nice mix of tunes. The guitar and voice work very well together. My favorite tune is Tumbleweed. As soon as I heard this song it kept repeating in my head (thats a hit for me). I also like The Liar. Its amusing and again the music and voice play well together. There are also 2 excellent solo guitar instrumentals. The lyrics mean someting on every song. Overall a 4 out of 5.

Cools you down and revs you up at the same time

A great listen! Delightful and intricate guitar backs up a soulful singer who puts the words and music together to create memorable, enjoyable songs you'll find yourself humming and singing long after you leave the CD player. "Here, Now" takes your head to a delightful place. "Tumbleweed" is an upbeat, funky take on a traditional blues lament. Don't miss this CD!

Brooker and Bullen raise the bar for the intimate musical venue. Their silky smooth presentation has a sultry edge that fills a room with smoky yet heartfelt resonance. The guitar work of Brooker is beyond excellent and Bullen's rich voice is playful and soulful at the same time. Looking forward to their next cuts.
