Excellent album!

When a band puts out its first CD, you pretty much expect crap, though it may capture the energy and the idea. Not so with Brookfield- this CD is great start to finish. Being produced and engineered by the band, it's overflowing with energy, a positive sound, and catchy songs that bring to mind 311, the Bosstones, Sublime, the Police, Blink-182... not to mention some SERIOUS musicality. Though a young band, these guys are headed in the right direction! Check `em out!

Plenty of potential!

Brookfield is a fresh, young band based out of New England. Their diverse sound is heavy on rock but also features punk, funk and reggae. This eleven-track CD has lots of vigor and versatility. The musical interactions are tight but their songs are loose enough to allow each player to shine. 'Dreams' opens the CD in high gear, with its driving beat and funky bass lines. There is a slight downshift as the vocals kick in. As the tune hits another bridge, the pace increases and will subtly decrease before closing with a similar speed of the start. 'She Does' features edgy instrumentation and echoing vocals as a strong, steady beat prevails throughout the song. 'Cheery Dip' is flavored with a lighter tempo, focusing more on experimental vocal and sound effects. It is a short but sweet song. Brookfield has plenty of potential and their freshman release captures that, as well as the energy and synergy that they bring to their music!
