Even as a child Earl has always had a way with words. Whether it was
statements made at gatherings with wisdom beyond his years, his vocabulary
or quick wit family & friends alike are not surprised by his ability to be a
dynamic poet. Earl Majette aka "Brother Earl" was born and raised in Harlem
NYC in a family environment that placed a high value on communication
skills. As an
up & coming MC during the late 70's & early 80's he blazed many a stage
before concentrating completely on college. After obtaining a AAS degree in
Accounting and a BA in Economics Earl worked as an accountant and financial
analyst before settling in as a commercial loan officer for a bank. His
life was forever changed with the death of his father and he struggled with
the lost until he rediscovered his love for the word and the release it
offered when writing a poem about his father. After attending a few poetry
readings he was hooked and decided to enter the arena. Brother Earl has
been writing and reciting poetry for 3 years has performed in nearly 100
venues all across the United States and Canada with shows confirmed for the
carribean and Europe later this year. In addition he has produced 3 poetry
cd's was featured in the movie "Hughes Dream Harlem" and is one of the four
poets selected to represent New Jersey in the 2003 National Poetry Slam to
be held in Chicago this summer. Poemography is his latest endeavor and this
project wasted no time in creating a niche for itself.
Poemography is a romantic and erotic poetry cd that blends smooth Jazz, R&B
& vocals along side a phenomenal spoken word artist for a truly unique
sound.
This cd takes you on a "poetical" journey, covering many aspects of love,
relationships and life in ways that are thought provocating, serious, funny
but most of all erotic.
You don't have to take my word for it, listen for yourself as you ponder
the question "What is Poemography?"
The answer will excite you

You are TRULY GIFTED! I am not trying to inflate your ego, but Brother Earl, Earl Majette, God has TRULY placed fire in your heart and soul. Your word play leaves me imagine EVERY word factually. The intensity in your spirit is electrifying and damn near explosive. Poemegraphy entrenches my sensuality/sexuality. What a wonderful midnight tuck-in....

One of the things that drew me to become a fan of Brother Earl is that his style and cadence is different from all the rest of today's garden-variety spoken word poets. His lyrics are derived from life experiences. They are thoughtful and inspiring. His voice tells a story all it's own with the music accompanying him, much like a background singer. He is sensitive and that sensitivity is evident in his poetry. This is a man who speaks from the depths of his soul. It's beautiful to listen to adult sensuality and not some 17-year old version of sex with someone he thinks he loves. I'm wickedly impressed with the CD and am eagerly awaiting the sequel...
