"If you keep traveling long enough, you’ll recognize yourself back at the beginning. I grew up going to 8 schools in 12 years, living in 4 countries all by the age of 17. When people would comment on how fortunate I was as a kid to see the world they were right. But also wrong because as a kid you end up entirely disconnected from the idea of relationships and community. It was my faith that kept me whole, that helped me recognize we are all in the end more similar than different, that the world really is one. To reach out to other people. Our appearances that we think are so different, one from another, are really not differences at all. Jesus loved everyone, he took in the lepers and the castaways, the dispossessed, the disabled. When you listen to your heart and are at peace with your neighbors you are already home, no matter what the name of the place."
