Album Notes

Any time music makes you feel glad to be alive, you’re in Luke’s world. Shaun “Luke” DeGraff is a modern-day minstrel out to uncover life’s simple pleasures, capture and release them with lyric, hook and loop.
Now Luke brings his world to yours with an exhilarating and mesmerizing electro-funk celebration. The party is launched from Luke’s “electric chariot,” a self-propelled keyboard platform he rides onstage like a space-age organ grinder. For the next 45 minutes, Luke delivers his “extreme makeover edition” of the standard club show.
Luke coaxes a techno marvel of futuristic sounds from his keyboard and seamlessly weaves them into captivating rhythms—several of them remixed cuts from his debut and sophomore CD’s—bathing his audience with a wash of unexpected melodic landscapes or bombarding them with thunderous trance-groove frenzy. Colorful, quirky and eclectic video projections enhance his performance. At the heart of the show is a man and his music, and every high-tech bell and whistle Luke triggers is manipulated with the most human of touches.
Six years after Luke received his first piano at age 13, he traveled to Las Vegas from the shadows of an Indian reservation in Arizona, determined to take his music to the next level. Hungry and desperate, Luke lied about his lack of equipment to land a paying gig with an R&B band. Eventually his deception was exposed, but Luke’s talent and charisma was impressive enough that the bandleader forgave him and even lent him a dilapidated keyboard until he was able to afford his own.
From that golden opportunity, Luke began performing at the top casinos on the Las Vegas Strip as well as other venues worldwide. Hailed as an astral-funk wake-up call to the local Vegas music scene, Luke generated a devoted following that revered his captivating stage persona and Stevie Wonder-meets-Paul Oakenfold sound. His debut CD, In My Room (2002), went on to win first-place honors over 10,000 other entrants for Best Modern Rock Album during the Just Plain Folks 2004 awards show in Santa Ana, CA.
