Album Notes

Brothers Together was formed in Clayton Alabama and originated under the name,
“The Glover & Davis Boys”. The original eight (8) members with the oldest being eight years of age were William Joe Glover Jr., Reggie Glover, Johnnie Tirrell Glover, Roosevelt “Rody” Glover, Roderick Glover, Maurice Glover, Marcus Glover, & Charles Davis Jr. The group was found by inspiring Parents of the eager yet musically talented young gentlemen. In 1984 they had their first debut in performing as a Gospel Group and Singing Gospel Music, although the sweet sound of harmony and musical talent had not developed, they gracefully gave it their all and stole the hearts of many who heard and saw their performance.

The Glover & Davis Boys continued to sing acapella for several years, but as they approached their teenage years they decided it was time to reveal another deep hidden talent of learning to play musical instruments. (Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, & Key Board). In 1995 the young gentlemen formerly known as “The Glover &Davis Boys”, had grown into young men and made a transitional change in their group and decided since they were related and they were brothers and first cousins, it felt natural to rename the group and call themselves “Brothers Together”.

The Group sang for many years and during their years of singing their voices developed from the sweet baby sound to professional young men. As they continued to sing they were blessed to have their own musical equipment and instruments, (a mobile trailer, Amplifiers, Speakers, Microphones, Drums, Guitars, Key Board ect…) The Brothers realized that having their own equipment gave the group more access for exposure by setting up for programs and different events which allowed them to travel abroad to different cities and states.

The Brothers knew that the opportunities they experienced from traveling from one place to the other when singing gospel music, humbly made them realize that singing is more than just a show. People are blessed through their songs and testimonies. In 1997 they were inspired to record their first (1st) single CD entitled “Jesus is all I need” with one (1) additional song recorded on that sound track entitled “Pull off your shoes” inspired from the book of the Bible Exodus Chapter 3 (God told Moses to pull off his shoes). If you read Exodus Chapter 3 you will understand their inspiration for recording this song. The CD was successful and Pull off your shoes was a hit and requested whenever and wherever they performed.

In 2001 “Brothers Together” were inspired to record their first complete CD entitled “Sunshine”, which was a great accomplishment in knowing the best was yet to come. Recording the CD “Sunshine” gave them Radio air time which allowed them to travel and share the stage with some the finest quartet’s legends in gospel music. The dream they envision of singing gospel music was going well for them and things seemed as if it was going in the direction they had hoped and prayed for; when abrubtly out of nowhere one of the Brothers became seriously ill.

On Sunday, September 18, 2005 at 12:00 a.m. tragedy struck the group when Reggie Glover drummer & background singer became seriously ill. While being transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama Reggie was very much so alert, and knew his surroundings, but he knew something was seriously wrong because of the severe pain he was experiencing. The pain he was experiencing was small strokes which lead up to a massive stroke affecting the right side of his brain and right side of his body. Reggie has made a remarkable recovery and he is doing wonderful.

It is now four (4) years later; on July 26, 2009 they are so grateful to God for all he has done for Reggie, and most grateful for where he has brought him from; and thanking him in advance for how he will bless him in the future to come. Brothers Together were inspired by the Reggie’s recovery to complete their second complete CD entitle “Thank You” with the help of the following members: Tirrell Glover, (Lead Vocalist) Joe Glover, (BG Vocalist), Reggie Glover, (Member & Motivator) Roosevelt “Rody” Glover (Bass Guitar & BG Vocalist, Roderick Glover, ( Lead Guitar) Marcus Glover, (Key Board Player) Jeffery Newberry Jr., (Drummer & BG Vocalist) Leshon Davis, (Organ & BG Vocalist) Derrick Doyle, (Keys) and Stefon Gainey, (Guitar).
