Album Notes

Bruce Dean has been playing guitar since the age of 8. His music is sometimes peaceful and meditative, sometimes plaintive and challenging. Bruce's music focuses on strong melodic lines often contrasted with chords that are subtly dissonant and abstract.

The author and publisher of twenty seven “Chord Genius” books covering everything from Bouzouki to Mandocello that he sells over the Internet through NorthernMusician.com, his music is never boring regardless of the seeming simplicity. “My music is a crossover between, blues, folk and soft modal jazz, heavy on vocals. Sometimes it’s light and melodic, sometimes dark and brooding. I dislike the ordinary and strive for a fresh sound in whatever I’m playing.”

Dean is part of a growing number of dissatisfied and disenfranchised boomers who have walked away from successful business careers back to their first love. “Making music and sharing the joy that’s to be had… and to make a living at it… is there anything better than that?”

"I have lots on the go. I'm hoping to have a new CD out shortly followed by 'Patriot of All Nations' that will focus on the challenges of maintaining freedom in the face of an encroaching distorted democracy through songs dealing with principals of freedom. 'When they free speech' is a glimpse at this future album."
