Album Notes

This music is original Americana Folk Country flavored sad and not sad snippets of life full of ups and downs.

Bruce Muckala is a songwriter living in the US. He started playing professionally at the age of eighteen as the guitarist in a 4-piece rock & roll band, later moving on to a Chicago/Blood Sweat & Tears style group and then to smaller acoustic duos and solo guitar gigs.

He has been writing songs for most of his adult life, from Traditional Country, Country-Rock to Folk. The songs here are adult oriented and are in the folk, country-folk and country-rock genres and also what is often referred to nowadays as Americana.

"Older Now is a project begun with the thought of having old and new friends
contribute their many talents," Muckala relates. "Along the way I asked other singers and musicians I admired to join in. I hope you enjoy it."

Thanks to all the fine friends and musicians who lent their wonderful talents.

Kelly McGuire at Midnight Hour Studios did a great job mixing and Robert Hadley at The Mastering Lab did a superb job mastering it.

There seems to be something about Minnesota that causes the best musicians to flock here (Leo Kottke, Tim Sparks, Phil Heywood to name a few). Bruce Muckala and friends are certainly no exception to that fact. There are some great tunes here played by a great band. Don't let the cover photo fool you, this isn't music from the depression era. This is a great collection of new tunes played by a very capable band. The recording and mixdown are also excellent. Have a listen. You won't be disappointed.
