Album Notes

Bruce Williams is an alto sax player with quite an impressive resume. Bruce was raised in D.C. but now resides in north Jersey near NYC. He has performed with Roy Hargrove,Frank Foster, Little Jimmy Scott, Branford Marsalis, Russell Gunn, D.C. go-go bands, Stanley Cowell, KRS 1,STING, Ben Riley, the World Saxophone Quartet, and Malcolm Jamal Warner. He is a very versitle jazz musician that loves many styles of music. He also performs and records regularly on the underground neosoul circuit with Black I and Nick Rolfe. This recording represents the feeling of a real band playing modern jazz. Our music is about today's look at straight ahead, post bop, funk, and avant garde swing. It was recorded with everyone all in the same room to give the music hot & live vibe. We hope that you'll enjoy it.

Passionate, Emotional, Soulful, Original -- all elements of Bruce Williams's playing. These are qualities lacking in many of today's generation of musicians.

The quartet sounds like a very tight cohesive unit. This is definitely not "safe jazz" and some of the best music that I have heard in recent years.
