Album Notes

The Brunos companion recording to Bloody Knuckles. A mixture of Fernch and English traditional dance tunes that will delight anyone who enjoys this genre. A perfect holiday gift for the music lovers you know.

The title is an homage to Pipe & Bowl Morris Men's departed master fiddler, David Ricker, who still haunts us all.

This tight-knit band, composed of members of the glorious Pipe & Bowl Morris Men,
have been playing together for more than a decade. They are:
Alex Bernstein - whistles
Jay Doane - fiddle
Brad Dow - flute & clarinet
Tim Meighan - cittern
Dave Uebersax - sackbut
Jude Darnell - fiddle
Larry Klein - octave mandolin
Brian Dallarmi - fiddle
Kevin Hughes - mandolin
Kevin Patrick Fanning -field drum
Jason Adajian - D/G button accordion

Besides being really fun to listen to, one of the great things about Bruno recordings is that they play the tunes at dance speed; I've come across a lot of recordings where the artists show off their musicianship by playing tunes far faster than the tunes are supposed to be played. The Brunos can show off their musicianship and still produce music that you can either dance to or (if you're learning to play the tunes yourself) learn by ear. All three of their CDs are splendid, with a wonderful variety of tunes, and I hope they keep recording.
