"What You're Looking For" comes across as an album by a talented singer/songwriter. Bryan Turner definitely has a nice voice that lands softly on the ears, and he has a good sense of melody, as well. The vocals are smooth with a touch of soul. On the song, "What You're Looking For", the music is grooving and goes well with Turner's voice. The guitar solos on "Crossroads" make this the standout track on the album, and it certainly deserves to be on Lightning 100's local spotlight. Bryan Turner's songwriting comes across as honest. In fact, that's one of Turner's strongest qualities. Throughout the album his voice and lyrics are believable.

Bryan Turner has a wonderfully unique voice that's mature and mellow...a modern day recapture of all those days I spent soaking up James Taylor albums in my youth. It's got a bit more bite than a folk record, a tad more soul than an adult contemporary record, but all the passion of a true songwriter project. It's the audio equivalent to 'comfort food'.
