SAN FRANCISCO SINGER-SONGWRITER
BRITTANY SHANE
Website: www.brittanyshane.com
"Her lyrics are so personal that you feel like you are listening to a phone conversation or reading her diary. And crystal clean and tasteful guitarist Bob Spector leads Shane's crack backup band like a cavalry charge. Such songs as "Come Around," "This Movie" and "Fruits On Your Vintage" may sound familiar, but that's just Shane's talent shining."
-David Kulczyk, Sacramento News & Review
"The former Wisconsinite has made her way to San Francisco and in turn found a gold mine of inspirations. The tight playing and blossoming skills at turning out solid tunes makes the guitar-driven disc a delight. Cascading twang and tender truths collide as her seductively husky voice makes for a delicious stew of folk-rock tunes that grows catchier with every listen without losing its initial honesty and sincerity."
Decked Out Review by John Noyd - Maximum Ink Music Magazine
"An Endearing, well-spoken songstress with emotional lyrics"
-Mike Moore, Music Connection MagazineBrittany Shane
Brittany Shane is among the most promising of the new generation of roots-rock singers on the California scene today. Shane grew up in the small town Baraboo, Wisconsin. She discovered her talent for singing and song writing during her sophomore year in college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Shane developed a college following and released her first CD, "Out of the Everywhere" in 1999. It was chosen as one of Maximum Ink Music Magazine's "Best CDs of 1999".
A year later, she released her second album, "Moravian Star," attracting an even wider audience. "Young and talented, Madison singer Brittany Shane is earning a position among the best female vocalists," (Natasha Kassulke, Wisconsin State Journal). Her live performances were also noted. Sue Peterson, host of the Mad City Music Show on 101.5 FM, in Madison, named her one of the best female performers of 2000.
Now based in San Francisco, Shane has garnered her share of press, both local and national. Maximum Ink ranked her current album, "Decked Out", in their Top Ten releases of 2003, and The San Francisco Chronicle named "Decked Out" one of the Top 20 Local Albums.

when i met brittany and the band in san francisco in 2003, i immediately liked the sound (they played in a small, crowded pub). "this movie" is a brilliant song, but i also like "i was wrong". we are in 2006 now and i´m still listening to "decked out" once in a while.
keep it up! hope to see you again soon!

A CD "full of riches"!
author: Bill Wagoner
Half the cuts are worthy of the "repeat" button... Pocketful of Riches, Fruits On Your Vintage, Come Around, Maybe Dealin', I Was Wrong, and (my favorite!) Are You Available? A refreshing artist with hints of Sheryl Crow and Patty Griffin.

best new artist I've heard in a long time

I was lucky enough to see Brittany play a show in a small venue in LA recently and immediately had to learn more about her and her music. My search lead me to her most recent album Decked Out. That was almost a month ago and I've listened to little else since. The songs on this album aren't just words put to music they're stories that you want to hear over and over again, and Brittany's sweet yet soulful voice makes you believe every word as if it were gospel. Of the many shining spots on this album Pocket Full of Riches stands out for me, her singing on this track is so beautiful, she could be singing entries out of a phone book and I would still put it on a loop and never get tired. To sum up, great songs, great band, incredible voice, buy this album and listen to it repeatedly.
