New York transplant, Wendy Schneider and German native, Per Farny, make up the backbone of the Midwest-based rock band, Bugatti Type 35. With over 5 years of performance experience, what began as a punk rock trio that never sacrificed content in music has evolved into a powerful and significant force in the indie-rock scene. Bugatti recently recorded their second full length, TRACTION, with Relapse recording artist Mike Henry on drums.
Wendy's impassioned vocals and honest songwriting consistently blend melody, rage and sheer strength in an unforgettable style. Equally compelling is her guitar playing; a thick, inventive blend of power chords and leads. The music is deftly-anchored by Per's precise, tough-as-nails bass playing, which skillfully treads the line between the straight ahead energy of hardcore, and the more pop sensibilities of modern rock.
"Aggressive guitar rock with taught rhythms, atmospheric flourishes, and bold lyrics." - Alternative Press
"An ideally balanced mix of grainy female vocals, sinewy guitar/bass interplay, and direct, visceral, drumming...a coiled sense of tension and urgency, breathes through their music, expressed not in flailing catharsis but as a sense of the damage a body can hold, a sense that can be purified into usable anger and determination." - Milk Magazine
"A welcome new sound, combining straightforward lyrics with earnest, all-hell-breakin'-loose musicianship." - Night Sites & Sounds
"Etches in the memory instantly." - Columbus Guardian
"Wendy is a force to be reckoned with. This isn't just some girl whining about why life sucks; her lyrics have meaning and she doesn't feel the need to scream them all." - The Minnesota Daily
