Album Notes

Two time Grammy winner Bubba Hernandez (formerly of Brave Combo)looked up accordion wiz, Alex Meixner to combine European styles over a Tex-Mex conjunto rhythm section adding pop rock aesthetics. This combination has created a hybrid that brings to mind two old cousins from over seas meeting for the first time and the party that ensues. Polka Freak Out: Bubba Hernandez and Alex Meixner is now nominated for a Grammy Award for the year 2007. The Grammy awards are to be held February 10, 2008.

Some of the guest performers on this recording include, Augie Meyers (Texas Tornados), Max Baca (Texmaniacs, Texas Tornados), Richard Solis (Latin Breed), and country session man, Bobby Flores. This project was recorded at Blue Cat Recording Studio, San Antonio, TX.
