Bubblemath is a Minneapolis quintet with a simple mission statement: "To be a Minneapolis quintet with a simple mission statement."
So far, so good.
Bubblemath’s music bridges the gap between the technical precision and grand theatrics of progressive rock, and the quirky hook-driven appeal of alternative rock. Pissed off, hilarious, complicated, avant prog-pop jazzcore at its most pissed off, hilarious, and complicated.
This particular blend of styles has tapped the fervent hunger of the world’s progressive rock community. As a result, Bubblemath debuted to great national, as well as international, acclaim.
If you are a fan of complicated music-for-musicians type compositions and performances, you are a fan of Bubblemath.
Bubblemath’s debut CD, Such Fine Particles of the Universe, earned them the 2002 Best Eclectic Recording Award from the Minnesota Music Academy.
Bubblemath are currently in the studio recording their second album. This long-fabled sophomore release will be available for mass purchase in early 2007.

quirky and inventive

Five stars! This album is full of whimsy and downright scary musicianship. Imagine Faith No More thrown into a blender with the Tubes, throw in a jazz sensibility, a drummer who can rock with the best progressive drummers and you have a recipe for surprise. I wish more people knew about this band. It's a real crime they are not a huge industry success. But then again I'm glad. I feel like I have a slice of something special. A bit of melty, gelatinous, space, prog-rock, jazz with Elfmanesque lyrics and vocals. Do yourself a favor and pick this up!

Living in Izmir/Turkey, I found Bubblemath at myspace and was so impressed that I ordered their CD immediately. An impressive blend of distorted guitars, wicked odd rhythms and polyphonic medieval sounding vocals...If you like Gentle Giant- get this one now.

A promising debut.

I was seduced by the band on MySpace when they decided to invite me to be their friend. I had previously turned down many such requests from other bands but the draw of Bubblemath was too strong. Intriguing, interesting and exciting stuff....almost as if Yes and Devo had collided and created a new deranged form of music. Can't wait to check out the follow-up!

Very enjoyable

Found this band on MySpace. Liked 'em well enough. They put their CD on sale. Figured, what the hell. Got it. Liked 'em even more. They sound like a cross between Faith No More and Dream Theater with a dash of Mike Keneally on occasion. Very excellent debut.
