Album Notes

Bubonik Funk is an ever-changing group with versatility in their music to match their unusual lyrical content. It all began as funky club tunes and quickly developed into reggae romps, progressive dark odes to bleeding homeless men and musette-infused sing alongs. OTB is one E.P. that feels full enough to be an entire album, though only a few minutes under half an hour. The Drumming sounds particularly well amongst the tight bass and guitar work, topped off with keyboard counter-melodies and a vocalist working off of Sinatra, Morrison and Ludacris. It may all seem too odd to be true, but the results are five songs of original content that don’t fit a genre other than perhaps, “Bubonik” funk. Funk music that has become mutated and molested into something strange and eerily unique.
